The Records Team processes all reports, citations, subpoenas, permits, and statistical reporting. They keep track of crime data and run reports to help the Office be more effective, and they staff the front desk and non-emergency general telephone lines during business hours.

Who can get a report?

  • The victim
  • An authorized representative of the victim
  • An insurance carrier against which a claim has been made and/or might be made
  • Any person suffering bodily injury, property damage or loss

Reports will not be released if:

  • The disclosure would endanger the safety of a witness or other involved party
  • Endanger the successful completion of the investigation or related investigations
  • The report involves minors (17 years of age or younger), even to the parents/guardians and/or reporting parties
  • The name and address of certain crimes will not be disclosed

What kind of reports can be released?

Arrest reports:

If you have been arrested - either booked into jail or cited - you are not entitled to receive a copy of the report from the Sheriff's Office. You will receive a copy from the courts or your defense attorney.

How do I request a report?

You are able to request your report via a written request mailed to the Records Unit, or online through the form below. The Sheriff's Office Records technicians will research your request and determine whether you are entitled to a copy of the report.

If the report is approved and available, your request will take between seven and ten business days to complete. Not all reports are available when you request them. Especially complex cases and traffic collisions involving injuries or fatalities can require significant investigation on the part of the deputy.

You will receive a response within 10 days. Not all reports are available when requested. You will be notified if the report is not available. Receiving the response via email is free. Vehicle Releases

If your car has been stored or impounded, the following is required to release your vehicle:

  • Valid Driver's License
  • Current vehicle registration
  • Valid proof of insurance

If your car has been repossessed, the following is required to release your vehicle:

Background Checks

For a local criminal background check, you must fill out this form. You must present your driver's license when dropping off the request.

ABC Permits

The appropriate form, found on the state website, must be filled out and submitted either by email, in person, or by U.S. mail. Please note: a diagram of the event must be attached. A signed permit is usually ready within five days.
